I want to tell you about a place that stopped me in my tracks.

At the end of May I'm personally leading a small group — maximum 6 people — on a 12-night safari through Botswana, finishing at Victoria Falls. One spot is confirmed. Five remain.

The trip starts in the Kalahari at Grasslands Safari Lodge. You may have seen it recently — it's the only place in all of Africa that National Geographic chose for Will Smith's Pole to Pole series. Seven episodes, seven continents, one African location. This is it.

What makes Grasslands extraordinary is Neeltjie Bower. She's a sixth-generation San Bushman descendant, fluent in Naro — one of the oldest languages on earth — and her family's connection to this landscape goes back nine generations. The Bushman cultural experience she leads here isn't a show. It's the real thing, shared by someone who lives it.

From the Kalahari we move through the Okavango Delta, Khwai — one of Botswana's top three wildlife areas — and then a full day driving through Savuti before two nights on a proper old-school mobile safari deep in Chobe. We finish with proper time at Victoria Falls, including a helicopter flight over the Falls.

Departure is 30 May. Price is USD 8,250 per person sharing. I'll be there from day one. What about you?

Eight people. Two weeks. Kenya and Zanzibar. Not a single thing went wrong.

Evelyn and her family spent five days on safari at Instinct of the Mara in the Olderkesi Conservancy — dancing with Maasai warriors, watching lions at dawn, eating breakfast in the bush with no other tourists in sight. Then they flew to Zanzibar for two nights exploring Stone Town, and five nights at Zuri Zanzibar.

Her words: "We came so close to wild animals in their natural environment. The country, the people, the nature — we will always carry them with us. We are definitely going back."

This is what I do. Bespoke trips built around you — whether that's a solo traveller, two people or eight. Or twelve, like a booking I have for June.

Her full review will be on the website soon.

What a way to end the week - just confirmed my 40th client for 2026, and it's only March.

Nice.

Her er hva Helle Warncke-Wang hadde å si etterpå:
