A few photos from yesterday's Constituition Day in Oslo. The weather was nice and whole atmosphere was absolutely stunning!

Previous years I tried to witness the celebration closer to Karl Johan and Royal palace but this time I chose the street close to where the parade starts. And I could get the great viewpoint.

What a fantastic colours of costumes, flags and the spirit of joy and national pride!

If you climb up onto the elegant Acrobat pedestrian bridge, you’ll catch one of the most iconic views of Oslo’s Barcode district. 🏙️

From this angle, the idea behind the project becomes crystal clear: slim tower-like buildings and carefully designed gaps between them create the silhouette of a gigantic barcode along the waterfront.

This is one of those places where you simply want to slow down.

Take photos. Observe. Discover details that are easier to notice from here than anywhere else. Even that dramatic meeting room suspended above the tracks almost feels like it’s hanging over an urban canyon.

It’s also fascinating to remember that in the early 2000s, around 73% of Oslo residents opposed the project. People feared walls of concrete, oversized “monster buildings,” and the loss of the fjord skyline. The debate became so intense that the architects eventually agreed to lower parts of the development.

And yet… reality somehow surpassed expectations.

Today Barcode has become one of the symbols of modern Oslo — bold, dynamic, and surprisingly human in scale when experienced from within.

Standing here on the bridge, joining the collective “wow” feels almost inevitable.

Bravo, Barcode! ✨

📍 Oslo Central Station
This is where the city pulses. Trains come and go. Faces blur, meet, part, smile. The departure board glows with names of places far and near.

For many, Oslo S is the very first step into the city. For others, it’s the last glimpse. And for all — it’s a living map of motion and possibility.

Start your city walk here — in the heart of the city's rhythm. Watch the crowds. Smell the coffee. Snap a photo with the board behind you, and let the adventure unfold...

Peace Nobel Centre is something you should not miss when walking through the Norwegian capital 🇳🇴✨

Originally built as Oslo’s “West Station” back in 1872, today this elegant building has a completely different mission — inspiring conversations about peace, dialogue and the future 🌍

I love how this place combines: 🏛️ Neo-Renaissance architecture
☀️ Open Scandinavian city space
🚶 Slow urban rhythm
💡 And meaningful stories behind the walls

It’s one of those places in Oslo that speaks softly — but stays in your memory for a long time.

Take a closer look next time you walk around Aker Brygge and the City Hall area 😉

In Oslo, the rhythm feels different.
A city where ferries glide past opera roofs, cranes meet pine forests, and even busy mornings leave space to simply sit by the water and watch the light move.

Big city energy.
Quiet Nordic pauses.
That’s the Oslo rhythm. ✨

🌸 Crocus Carpet – Catching Spring in Oslo’s Royal Park

Every spring, for just a short spell, the lawns of Oslo’s Royal Palace Park (Slottsparken) are transformed into a delicate carpet of crocuses.

They appear almost overnight — fragile, glowing in purple, white, and gold — like nature’s quiet fanfare announcing that winter is over.

The bloom doesn’t last long. A few warm days, a bit of rain or wind — and the moment is gone.

So if you’re in Oslo in March or April, don’t miss this fleeting wonder. It’s the kind of beauty that teaches you to pause, look down, and truly notice.

Behind the magic is a dedicated team of gardeners, working year-round to care for the park’s flowers and landscapes.
