🚢 What a cool experience!

I just visited the Jektefartsmuseet (The Jekt Trade Museum) in Bodø, and it was way more exciting than I expected! You get up close with "Anna Karoline", a massive Nordlandsjekt that sailed along the Norwegian coast for over 100 years – it’s crazy to think about all the history this boat has seen.

The museum tells the story of the jekt trade, how these boats were the lifeline of the coast, and how people traveled, traded, and survived long before roads and modern transport. There are tons of great exhibits, films, and interactive displays – I really got a sense of what it must have been like to sail along the coast in all kinds of weather.

📍 The museum is right by Saltstraumen, so it’s a perfect stop if you're in the area!

Støtt ☀️⚓️❤️what a place! A beautiful old fishing village on the outer edge of the Helgeland coast, between Meløy and Rødøy. People have been fishing and trading here for centuries, and you can feel the history in every boathouse and rocky shore. Now I’m here, taking it all in—the coastal culture, the silence, and the raw, breathtaking nature. The sea is right at my doorstep, and it’s easy to see why this place has been an important hub along the coast for generations. Truly a little gem out here in the open sea!

Støtt, altså☀️⚓️🥰 For et nydelig fiskevær ytterst på Helgelandskysten, mellom Meløy og Rødøy. Her har folk drevet med fiske og handel i hundrevis av år, og du kjenner historien i hver eneste knaus og naustvegg. Nå er jeg her og får fortalt historien av 5. generasjon drivere. Fantaskisk og oppleve kystkulturen, stillheten og den rå naturen. Havet ligger rett utenfor døra, og det er lett å skjønne hvorfor dette har vært et viktig knutepunkt langs leia i generasjoner. Rett og slett en liten perle langt her ute i havgapet!

She's magnificent when she appears the Aurora!
Todays hunting payed of, Karin and Herbert came all the way from Austria to get a glimpse - cold but happy couple I left off at the hotel tonight. Next adventure is dogsledding on saturday, they are looking forward to that experience to 🤩
