मानिसहरू किन दोष दिन्छ्न होलान् भाग्यलाई?
आफ्नै सपनामा आगो लगाइदिने हातहरू
फेरि नियतिकै निन्दा गुनगुनाइरहन्छन्;
खुशीका बाटाहरू त प्रायः
हाम्रै कदमले मेटिएका हुन्छन्।
मैले धेरै रातहरूमा देखेकी छु—
वफादार मनहरू
एकान्तसँगै गहिरो सुस्केरा बाँड्दै बाँचिरहेका हुन्छन्,
मजाक मान्नेहरू भने
महलका उज्याला आगनहरूमा
नयाँ अनुहारका छायासँग हाँसिहिँडिरहेका हुन्छन्।
अज्ञान प्रेमको क्षणिक उज्यालोमा
मैले त सबै केही अर्पित गरें—
उनीहरूलाई त खेलौना खोजि थियो,
र म भोलीपल्ट उदाउँदै नआउने
आकाशजस्तै आफ्नै हृदय समर्पण गरिरहेछु।
र आज पनि—
म आफैँलाई अचम्म मानिरहेको छु;
किनकि म आफैँलाई ध्वस्त पारेर
मेटिएको कथा बनेँ,
तर अचम्म, कुनै पश्चाताप
मेरो ढुकढुकीमा आजसम्म पलाएन।
