Are +2 students in Nepal actually interested in studying tourism, or is it still an overlooked career path?
Tourism is one of Nepal’s largest economic sectors, contributing significantly to employment and GDP. Despite this, a relatively small number of students choose tourism studies after completing their +2. The gap is not random—it is driven by limited awareness, unclear career pathways, and stronger social preference for fields like management, science, or IT.
In this video, we asked +2 students directly about their future study plans and whether tourism is part of their decision. The responses provide a clear, ground-level view of student mindset and career priorities in Nepal today.
Tourism is not limited to travel. It includes hospitality management, aviation, trekking and adventure operations, event management, and international career mobility. The industry has measurable growth potential, but student adoption remains inconsistent.
Watch till the end to see what students actually think—and how perception differs from reality.
