🐍 Happy Nag Panchami! 🐍

Today is Nag Panchami β€” the sacred Hindu festival celebrated on the fifth day of the bright fortnight in the holy month of Shravan, honoring the divine serpents of our tradition.

On this auspicious day, devotees worship the Eight Great Serpents (Ananta, Vasuki, Padma, Mahapadma, Takshaka, Kulika, Karkotaka & Shankha) by bathing their images with water, milk, and ghee, and offering dubo grass, kheer, curd, and puffed paddy.

Their figures are placed at the entrance of homes to guard families from harm β€” believed to offer protection from snake bites for seven generations. πŸ™

Behind this tradition lies a beautiful story: a farmer's daughter, absorbed in sincere prayer and offerings for the Nagas, moved the heart of an angered mother snake β€” who then granted divine nectar to restore her entire family to life. A reminder that devotion, compassion, and reverence can transform even grief into grace.

On this day, we honor nature by setting down the plow, leaving the soil undisturbed, and pausing the harvest β€” a gentle act of gratitude to the earth and all its creatures.

May the blessings of the Nagas bring peace, prosperity, and protection to you and your loved ones!
