It’s been over a month since the Catastrophic Flood and we are continuing to keep our humanitarian effort going. Today 10 Community Water Filteration Systems provide potable water to more than 3000 people 24/7. All this would not be possible without the support of Waves For Water, Youthlinc, Tropic & clients of Insight Himalaya.

We are in shock and disbelief after the catastrophic natural disaster that took place this morning (8.40 am 26 Aug 2026) in the Bhotay Koshi River Valley, north west of Kathmandu. The flood was sudden and due to the fact that it had originated in western Tibet it came down with so much force & destruction. The cause and origin is yet to be determined. As it was the monsoon we did not have any groups out in the field however there were definitely other tourists travelling through this valley to reach Mt Kailash or Lhasa in Tibet.

Our prayers go out to those who are missing their loved ones and our urgent request to the government to not hold back on any effort in these desperate times.
