Today I attended a very special ceremony at Lifelong Learning Payap University. This wonderful organization is a big part of my life in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It’s where I've learned the most about assimilating into Thai life and culture, and it's introduced me to some of the most wonderful expats in Northern Thailand.

We celebrated the dedication of an historic teak wood carved and painted mural that was donated to Lifelong Learning Payap by former U.S. Consul General Chiang Mai, Eric Rubin, and his wife Nicole Simmons. The stunning mural, rescued by Rubin/Simmons from an old Wat in Myanmar, was previously located at the old U.S. Consulate, which was closed after the new Consulate was opened recently. Now it is once again on display for all to see and enjoy.

I've wanted to taste Pu-er black tea for such a long time and finally had my chance yesterday at Tang Tea in Singapore's Chinatown. The mother and son owners were so kind to let me smell different teas. I had a cup of Pu-er as well as an oolong. The Pu-er (from the biscuit in white paper) was heavenly.
