Rukumkot, Nepal This is about rapti zone, mid-western part of Nepal. Rukum name itself has been derived from name Rukumkot, omitting 'Kot'.

Rukum (kot) is a beautiful town located in a valley in Rukum District, Nepal approximately 350 kilometres west of Kathmandu. Nearby is a pond called Rukmini Taal (Local name Kamal Dhaha (Nepali :- कमलदह) with historic Sibalaya Temple nearby built by Purna Kumari wife of a Rana Prime Minister, and attractive Barah Temple. mage of Rukum (kot) "Baunna Pokhari Tripanna Takuri" (Place of 52 Lakes & 53 Hills) is derived from the name of Rukum (kot). It is supposed that there are 52 ponds / lakes & 53 hills in Rukum (kot). Rukum district name itself has been derived from name Rukumkot, omitting "Kot". Rukum (kot) valley has been decorated with natural, cultural and historical beauties. There is a very historical Temple "Baraji", supposed to be made more than 350 years. This temple is located in millde of Rukmini Taal, as a floating Temple. Shibalya (Temple of Lord Shiva), situated north corner of the Rukmini Taal, was made by one of Rana Priminister's wife, who belonged to Rukum (kot) at that time in during the Rana reign. So it is said that this temple is only that monument made during the Rana reign in Mid-Western part of Nepal. There is a mysterious cave in eastern part of Rukum (kot), on the bank of Rumgad (River) called Deurali Gufa (Cave). One can get Deurali Cave on food in 1 hr from Rukum (kot). This cave have very interesting natural interior, that one can be amazed with different kind of images inside the cave. The town has government offices including police post, post office, health post, veterinary, a bank. Sisne Campus has offered Bachelor-Level studies since 2008 AD.

Janti is the groom’s wedding procession which goes form his house to the bride’s to bring the bride to the his house.
This ceremony is a very joyous event for the groom’s family while it is a bit sad for the Bride’s family as she will be leaving her house to start a new life with her husband.
