19 años viajando por el mundo... y el destino final nos encontró de la forma más inesperada. 🏔️✨

Después de casi dos décadas en la ruta buscando un lugar donde echar raíces, finalmente podemos decir: lo encontramos.
Y no pudo ser más perfecto. Es un pequeño pueblo escondido en las majestuosas Rocosas Canadienses. Desde el primer día supimos que tenía una magia especial, pero nuestro espíritu aventurero nos obligó a seguir explorando para estar 100% seguros.

Hoy, el viaje de búsqueda termina y empieza una nueva aventura. Por fin tenemos un lugar al que realmente podemos llamar hogar. 🇨🇦❤️

19 years on the road... and we finally found the place we want to call home. 🏔️✨

After nearly two decades of exploring the world looking for our spot, we can finally say: we found it.

And it couldn’t be more perfect—a tiny, beautiful town tucked away in the Canadian Rockies. We felt its special magic from day one, but we had to keep exploring just to be absolutely sure.

Today, the search ends and a new chapter begins. We finally have a place to truly call home. 🇨🇦❤️

¡Lo hicimos! Primer objetivo conseguido. Tras cinco días caminando por los himalayas hemos vuelto a Pokhara con el campo base del Annapurna en el bolsillo.

Atravesando la tierra de los Gurung, paso a paso, subiendo desnivel constante, conseguimos hacer noche a 4100 m de altura rodeado de colosos de roca. La meteo no pudo ser mejor: atardecer despejado para apreciar los tonos rojizos de la luz sobre el Machapuchare (6993 m) y el amanecer limpio de nubes sobre el Annapurna (8091 m).

Y esto solo es el aperitivo. Hoy nos adentramos en el reino de las montañas más altas del mundo con el deseo de completar la ruta de los Tres Pasos del Everest, considerado uno de los trekkings más bonitos del mundo, tocando el cielo a mas de 5500 m de altura durante 18 días.

We did it! First goal achieved. After five days of trekking through the Himalayas, we’ve returned to Pokhara with the Annapurna Base Camp in our pocket.

Crossing the land of the Gurung people, step by step, climbing a constant ascent, we managed to spend the night at 4,100 meters, surrounded by towering rock giants. The weather couldn’t have been better: a clear sunset to admire the reddish glow of the light over Machapuchare (6,993 m) and a cloudless sunrise over Annapurna (8,091 m).

And this is just the appetizer. Today we venture into the realm of the world’s highest mountains, hoping to complete the Everest Three Passes route — considered one of the most beautiful treks on Earth — touching the sky at over 5,500 meters for 18 unforgettable days.

🛕 Bienvenidos a Katmandu 🛕

Tierra de ochomiles y de una cultura vibrante. Atraídos por las grandes montañas nos sumergimos en la urbe más caótica de Nepal con dos objetivos: alcanzar el campo base del Annapurna y explorar la ruta de los Tres Pasos del Everest.

Para el primero necesitaremos cinco días que nos ayudarán a la aclimatación para completar el segundo, más complicado, que durará 17 días según lo planeado.

Aunque no todo es tan sencillo. Nada más llegar una intoxicación alimentaria nos ha postrado en la cama durante 3 días. Por suerte vamos con tiempo y el plan sigue adelante.

🛕 Welcome to Kathmandu 🛕

Land of eight-thousanders and a vibrant culture. Drawn by the great mountains, we dove into Nepal’s most chaotic city with two goals: to reach the Annapurna Base Camp and to explore the Everest Three Passes route.

For the first, we’ll need five days that will help us acclimatize before tackling the second —a more challenging one— which is planned to take 17 days.

But things aren’t always that simple. Upon arrival, a food poisoning episode knocked us out for three days. Luckily, we have time, and the plan is still on track.

🛶 El hechizo del Yukón 🛶

Quizás una de las aventuras más intensas que hemos vivido juntos. Recorrer 710 km del mítico río Yukon en canoa durante 11 días tan solo con la fuerza de nuestros brazos, en un entorno salvaje y aislado de belleza indescriptible y salpicado con los colores del otoño. ¿Qué mas se puede pedir?

Incendios, niebla, frío intenso...nada podía con las ganas de seguir avanzando. Un viaje redondo en el que hemos visto alces, osos y la migración masiva de aves. Descubriendo retales de la historia de los pioneros en busca de oro, siguiendo sus pasos, durmiendo en sus cabañas, navegando los rápidos donde muchos dejaron sus vidas y sueños.

Una nueva modalidad de aventura que nos ha enamorado y que repetiremos sin duda en otro de los infinitos caudales canadienses.

🛶 The spell of the Yukon 🛶

Perhaps one of the most intense adventures we have ever experienced together. Paddling 710 km down the legendary Yukon River in 11 days, relying only on the strength of our arms, in a wild and remote setting of indescribable beauty, painted with the colors of autumn. What more could one ask for?

Fires, fog, freezing cold… nothing could stop our determination to keep moving forward. A perfect journey in which we encountered moose, bears, and the massive migration of birds. We uncovered fragments of the history of the gold-seeking pioneers, following in their footsteps, sleeping in their cabins, navigating the rapids where so many lost their lives and dreams.

A new kind of adventure that has stolen our hearts—one we will undoubtedly repeat in another of Canada’s countless rivers.

Pescar es una herramienta más que nos acerca a la simpleza de la vida.

El autosustento responsable es una de las cosas más gratificantes que existen y más aun si se puede desarrollar en entornos como las remotas riberas del río Yukón, concretamente en el antiguo asentamiento de Forty Mile, donde 700 pioneros excavaron en busca de oro por primera vez, incluso antes de la existencia de Dawson City.

Personalmente estamos en contra de la pesca deportiva, solo pescamos para comer, y ser capaces de realizar el proceso entero hasta el consumo final nos aleja de la destructiva industria del procesado de carne.

Agradecidos a la naturaleza y al alimento del que nos provee.

Uncomfortable reality, clear conscience.

Fishing is another tool that brings us closer to the simplicity of life.

Responsible self-sustenance is one of the most gratifying things that exist, even more so if it can be developed in environments like the remote banks of the Yukon River, specifically in the old settlement of Forty Mile, where 700 pioneers dug for gold for the first time, even before the existence of Dawson City.

Personally, we are against sport fishing; we only fish to eat, and being able to carry out the entire process until the final consumption distances us from the destructive meat processing industry.

Grateful to nature and the food it provides us.

Aventura real significa no seguir los caminos marcados, enfrentar obstaculos a cada paso y disfrutar de un espectáculo único al final del recorrido. Eso es lo que hicimos ayer en en lo más salvaje del Yukón. Fueron 11 km y 1120 metros de elevación en un ascenso sin camino hasta una cima sin nombre en compañía de amigos. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?

Real adventure means not following the marked paths, facing obstacles at every step, and enjoying a unique spectacle at the end of the journey. That’s what we did yesterday at in the wildest part of Yukon. It was 11 km and 1120 meters of elevation on a pathless ascent to a nameless peak in the company of friends. What more could you ask for?

La inmensidad de este lugar es imposible de describir. Aquí no hay puntos turísticos, hay un continente por descubrir lleno de belleza a cada kilómetro. No importa donde vayas, la majestuosidad del lugar te embriaga incluso cuando abandonas las Rockies por un instante. Y antes de despedirnos por unos días visitamos a su rey, al más alto de todos sus picos, el monte Robson.

Y ahora escribo este post sin saber ni donde estamos. En algún punto a media hora de Prince George en el bosque, ocultos entre enormes árboles y acompañados por los siniestros sonidos de la naturaleza.

Day 6. Among Giants

The immensity of this place is impossible to describe. There are no tourist spots here; instead, there’s an entire continent waiting to be discovered, brimming with beauty at every kilometer. No matter where you go, the grandeur of the place envelops you, even when you momentarily leave the Rockies.

And now I write this post without knowing exactly where we are. Somewhere half an hour from Prince George, nestled in the forest among towering trees, accompanied by the eerie sounds of nature. 🌲🌿🌳

And before bidding farewell for a few days, we visited their king, the tallest of all their peaks: Mount Robson. 🏔️

Día 5. Extenuación

En ruta es difícil dejar al cuerpo descansar. En la última semana podemos contar con los dedos de una mano los días que nos hemos sentado en el sofá. Hacer montaña o senderismo ocupa la mayor parte del día y viviendo en caravana es imposible evitar que el resto lo ocupen las labores del vivir.

Pero sabemos a lo que venimos. Somos conscientes de lo privilegiados que somos por ser capaces de vivir como queremos, de experimentar lo que experimentamos y hacerlo además junto a la persona a la que amas y con la que compartirás estos recuerdos de por vida.

Gracias, existencia, por dejarnos fluir contigo.

Day 5. Exhaustion

On the road, it’s difficult to let the body rest. In the past week, we can count on one hand the days we’ve sat on the couch. Mountain climbing or hiking occupies most of the day, and living in a caravan means the rest of the time is filled with life’s tasks.

But we know why we’re here. We’re aware of how privileged we are to live as we want, to experience what we do, and to do it alongside someone who loves you, a person with whom I’ll share these memories for a lifetime.

Thank you, existence, for allowing us to flow with you. 🌟
