Phewa Lake, Phewa Tal or Fewa Lake, the second largest lake in Nepal is a freshwater lake located in the south of the Pokhara Valley that includes Pokhara city; parts of Sarangkot and Kaskikot. The lake is stream-fed but a dam regulates the water reserve, therefore, the lake is classified as semi-natural freshwater lake. The lake is also famous for the reflection of mount machhapuchhre and other mountain peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges on its surface. The Taal Barahi Temple is situated on an island in the lake.

Phewa lake and water sports is the main tourist attraction of Pokhara city and the north shore of the lake has developed into a tourist district, commonly called Lake-Side, with hotels, restaurants and bars catering to the tourists.

The Tukuche peak is located in the western Nepal Himalayas between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. Although relatively less explored, Tukuche is one of most exotic mountain climb in Nepal. Despite being a technical climb, it's nonetheless a favorite training mountain even among the prospective 8,000er climbers. The peak lies north of the exotic Hidden Valley. The summit of Tukuche Peak also offers great vistas of the surrounding Himalayas including the Annapurna Ranges, Nilgiri and also of the nearby villages such as Marpha and Jomsom.

Manaslu range at the backdrop.
Historical Gorkha Palace, the birth place of King Prithivi Narayan Shah. Regarded by many as the crowning glory of Newari architecture, Gorkha Durbar is a fort, palace and temple all in one. The temple-palace perches high above Gorkha on a knife-edge ridge, with superb views over the Trisuli Valley and magnificent panoramas of the soaring peaks of the Annapurna, Manaslu and Ganesh Himalaya.

The Durbar is an important religious site, so leather shoes and belts etc should be removed. Most pilgrims enter through the western gate, emerging on an open terrace in front of the exquisite Kalika Temple, a psychedelic 17th-century fantasy of peacocks, demons and serpents, carved into every available inch of timber.

Climb on Island Peak and trek to Everest Base Camp can be a true mountaineering adventure in Nepal. After exploring the vibrant and culturally rich Kathmandu, you fly to the mountains to begin your adventure in the Himalayas. Trek through the quaint Sherpa villages like Namche Bazaar, Tengboche en route uncovering the Sherpa lifestyle of the Khumbu region en route to Everest Base Camp. You’d get the opportunity to absorb the incredible scenery of the Everest region prior to your climb on the Island Peak.

You’d be ascending the famous vantage point- Kala Patthar (5,643m) from where you see the spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Khumbu Icefall, Nuptse and Lhotse.

Trekking to Everest Base Camp (5,380m) is a perfect way to acclimatize before you climb on Island Peak (6180m); following the trek to base camp of Everest, you’d cross the Khumbu Glacier climbing up to Kongma La leading to the valley of Imja Khola then reaching the village of Chukkung- last place with teahouses before the climb on Island Peak .

Apart from being just a trek to the famous Everest Base Camp, the climb on Island Peak is a great, rewarding, experience perfect as the introduction to the world of mountaineering in the Himalayas. It’s a climb with exposed situation with stunning sceneries. You can certainly feel this as one of the best adventure trips in Nepal.
