If not for COVID-19, today should have been a huge celebration to mark Indra Jatra. Thousands of people gather around the Kathmandu Durbar Square in this eight-day long festival and join in the festive mood. The dance of Lakhey, Pulu-Kisi and the chariot procession makes the Indra Jatra fun and enjoyable.

This photo is from 2016, of the Pulu-Kisi, believed to be the carrier of the god Indra, dancing around the Durbar Square.

ROAD TO KAPUCHE

After crossing Hugu and walking in a trail covered with forest for an hour or so, you reach the final destination Kapuche Glacier Lake. You only hear the sound of the river flowing and the birds chirping here which is really soothing to the soul.

With this our journey to Kapuche Glacier ends. Stay tuned for videos and pictures of other trekking regions of Nepal.

ROAD TO KAPUCHE

Now that the isolated grassy trail has passed, this make-shift bridge should be crossed to reach Hugu. According to the locals there, they put up a new bridge after every monsoon as the flow of the stream completely washes it away.

After having a hot tea/coffee at the primitive teahouse, you come across this beautiful waterfall named 'Yedi'. You cross a suspension bridge and that's where the uphill starts to Hugu.

The only teahouse/restaurant before your stop in Hugu for pushing through to the glacier lake. Though the place looks a bit primitive, you can get anything from tea/coffee to Dal Bhat to Noodle Soup. They also have options for you to stay there.

Seen From Tangting, the tiered Gurung village of Sikles is visible in the picture across the valley with the Annapurna II and Annapurna IV in the backdrop. Over the years, Sikles has attracted tourists and trekkers with the authentic feel of Gurung culture and homestays.
