Vegetarian in New Zealand? You are not getting three hours of lettuce on our watch. 🌱🥟🍷
One of the questions we’re asked surprisingly often is: “I’m vegetarian — will there be enough for me to eat on a food tour?”
The answer is a very enthusiastic YES.
New Zealand might be famous for lamb, beef and seafood, but our plant-based food deserves just as much attention. Think kūmara, mushrooms cooked over fire, handmade dumplings, local cheeses, native herbs, beautiful seasonal produce, artisan breads, chocolate and some seriously clever chefs.
For us, vegetarian guests aren’t something we have to “accommodate”. We don’t simply remove the meat and hope for the best.
We want to show you great food in great restaurants, full stop.
And quite often? The carnivores end up wanting a bite of yours.
We’ve written about why New Zealand is such a brilliant destination for vegetarian food lovers, and what vegetarian guests can expect when they join us.

Come hungry. We’ll take care of the rest.
