Paihia, a town situated in the North Island of NZ, known as the gateway to the sandy beaches, deep sea fishing & dive sites of the Bay of Islands, approx 3.5 hours north of Auckland.
Join a fully guided tour at NZ’s most historical site, Waitangi Treaty Grounds, founded back in 1840, featuring a carved meeting house, where the treaty was signed, giant Maori waka, (war canoe), Maori cultural performance and you can explore two museums.
Visit Haruru Falls, enjoy stunning panoramic views from the Opua Forest Paihia lookout track, overlooking the campgrounds, not to be missed!
Kerikeri, a town rich in history, visit Kororipo Heritage Park, riverside park which includes the Stone Store & Kemp House, which were built by missionaries, with the support of local Maori back in the early 1800’s. A must see attraction is Kerikeri’s most popular waterfall, Rainbow Falls, swimming hole for confident swimmers. Saturday markets, offer great food, coffee and local produce.
Visit the town of Russell, historic buildings, seaside cafes, restaurants & art galleries, a truely stunning setting whilst enjoying a luncheon at the world famous Duke of Marlborough Hotel (Est 1827)
Highly recommended is the seafood chowder, which can be matched with the local wines. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
