🐋 Whales come to 'Eua to birth their young in the safe waters of the ancient island.
🏝 Their sole purpose is to take care of their young. Helping them surface for air, tucking them under their wings for buoyancy and protection.
🐳 The whale tribe of Mumma, baby, brothers, sisters, Aunties, Grandmother's and cousins surround the mother and baby. Singing to each other and enjoying the warm waters and gentle swell.
💙 We have so much to learn from them and I am grateful we are able to connect with them with deep respect for their way of life
🙏 I thank them for their gentle and profound medicine and for the expansion and healing I have experienced since they first held me in their presence.
I hear them calling me back asking me to share their medicine.

Our 2026 season is scheduled with 4 different Sacred Whale Journeys planned in September.
We are so excited to be creating a new 'Teepee camp' on Eua this year and a wonderful program full of connection, sacred sites, ancient trees, whale swims, beach fires and song circles
Our current offerings are -
A seed camp for concious backpackers.
A cultural exchange group.
A Sacred Whale Journey led by Chelita Zainey
A Kids Whale Adventure Camp in the N.Z school holidays

Tonight we celebrated 'Tahu Ua's' birthday. The baby whale Jimmy saw birthed last year on 12/9/25. We made a whale cake, ate umu, drunk Kava and sung with friends, guests, our host family, and the locals.
I feel so deeply immersed here now, my heart full of gratitude for this place, these people and the whales 🐋🎂🙏

Today we visited the local primary school on Eua to donate items brought by our groups. We took two of the children from our second group with us Eli and Lily and their Nan Karen Phelps who is a school teacher.
It was wonderful to share about New Zealand and answer the children's questions we then shared national anthems. Lily even knew ours in sign language!
The kids then sung their Tongan anthem to us and in the last photo/video they are saying "Malo aupito, ofa atu" which means 'thankyou I love you'!
We then dropped a parcel of donated medical goods off the local hospital which they were very grateful for as we had tape for the rugby players injuries, wound dressing kits, and fabric dressing strips (which they had run out of)
One of our aims at Sacred Island Whale Adventure Retreats is to give back to and support the local communities here and we aim to develop relationships into the future so we can support this beautiful place and its people even more!

Retreat One is complete!
9 days of magical experiences on the beautiful island of Eua.
From ancient trees, crystal clear pools, smoking caves and stunning whales we have been humbled by it all and enriched by local culture and food.
Retreat Two starts tomorrow with calmer seas and whales all around 🐋🙏🌺

Two years ago I started having lucid dreams where I was swimming with humpback whales! They would surround me in the dark and invite me to explore the universe with them 🐋🌠🐳
When I was visiting Australia with my Mum in June 2024 I heard they were just offshore and I could feel their presence near. I bought myself a promise ring at Manly Beach, 2 silver whale tails wrapped around my finger and decided I would find a way to meet them!
When I returned to N.Z I started to research and was shocked to discover that some people were charging up to 10k usd for whale retreats. I got chatting with my brother from another mother Jimmy James Bradley the whales had been calling him too, his great grandfather even had the surname 'Whale'.
I had been to the Pacific islands nearly every winter since my boys were small and had worked out how to do it on the cheap. Jimmy and I reckoned we could do it for less than anyone else and make it even more fun! Our research led us to discover the magical island of Eua a 40 million year old paradise with ancient trees and sacred sites and the home of the whale tribe. We put a call out to our friends and 14 incredible souls undertook the most wonderful journey to go 'Camping with Whales' last year.
I would need to write a book to tell you all the wonderful moments we shared and the beauty we discovered. I distinctly remember my first moment eye to eye with a whale. The whole universe was looking back at me with the deepest knowing. I left the water crying ecstatically my heart literally cracked open, expanded beyond my chest and my mind sharper and clearer than ever. From that moment all I have wanted to do is GET BACK IN THE WATER and to take more friends to discover the magical island of Eua and the stunning creatures who visit there.
Next Sunday I start my journey back, this time leading 17 souls over 16 days from September 1 to 16 with Jimmy by my side again. Launching our own business 'Sacred island Retreats' with affordable, ethical, grounded business principles that not only allows more friends to discover the magic of the whales, we also support local families, schools and hospitals.
