Over the past few weeks, I had the privilege of exploring China on one of G Adventures’ many incredible itineraries, and it completely exceeded every expectation.

China is a country of extraordinary contrasts. One day you’re standing amongst breathtaking natural landscapes that seem almost too beautiful to be real, and the next you’re immersed in some of the world’s most vibrant, modern, and innovative cities.

Before this trip, I thought I knew what to expect. What I discovered was a country far more diverse, beautiful, and sophisticated than I had imagined.

From the otherworldly landscapes of Zhangjiajie, where towering sandstone pillars disappear into the clouds, to the tranquil rivers and karst mountains of Yangshuo, the natural beauty was simply breathtaking. Every day felt like stepping into a different postcard.

Then to the dazzling skylines, architecture, and energy of cities like Xi’an, Chengdu, Beijing, and Hong Kong, every destination offered something unique. The diversity of experiences was simply incredible.

As someone who loves exploring the world, China has moved straight onto my list of favourite destinations. It challenged my expectations in the best possible way and reminded me why travel is such a powerful experience.

If you’ve ever considered visiting China, this is your sign to do it. Whether you’re drawn to culture, history, food, natural wonders, architecture, or simply experiencing somewhere completely different, China delivers all of it and more.

Without question, it deserves a place on every traveller’s bucket list.
