Murihiku Māori Tours

Murihiku Māori Tours A mana whenua-led, high-end, small group tour experience based in Bluff and Awarua. Launching January 2026.

09/04/2026

We’ve come to the end of our first season of Murihiku Māori Tours — a time of testing, learning, and beginning to shape what this experience can be. We've had a blast!

With the quieter months ahead — and a need to be mindful about travel currently — we’re stepping back from regular tours and turning our focus to what comes next.

A big mihi - to those who have joined us so far.

We’ll see you again next season.

Before each journey begins.

We’re ready.
Information cards in place.
Stories waiting to be shared.

Each guest receives a small guide for the journey — including health and safety information, and cultural guidance for travelling respectfully on the whenua.

It’s a simple detail.
But the small things help set the tone for the experience.

Starting the week feeling grateful...

Hayz At The Anchorage dropped in with this generous voucher — a simple gesture of support as we get Murihiku Māori Tours underway.

That kind of encouragement matters more than people realise.

We’re looking forward to passing this on to one of our upcoming guests, so they can enjoy another local Bluff experience after spending time with us.

Today is Waitangi Day.

Our tours begin today — deliberately.

While the nation marks Waitangi Day today - our own signing took place further south, on 10 June 1840, just off Ruapuke Island.

If you travel with us, you’ll encounter some of these stories along the way.

Being Māori isn’t something we only acknowledge on days like today.
It shapes how we live, how we host, and how we carry responsibility — every day.

Murihiku Māori Tours sits within that reality.

From today, we begin.
