This week, the University of Canterbury celebrated ❤ and welcomed back international students returning to New Zealand under the Government Exemption Cohort.
Abdul Wafi, a returning student from Malaysia, shared his experience and words of advice to other international students:
“It’s a fantastic feeling to be back in New Zealand. I feel like it’s been a miracle journey, unforgettable and memorable one. Thanks to UC for helping and guiding me to get here. To all the international students who are studying online with a NZ provider know that your time will come, so in any situation just hang in there and always keep in touch with your university because they will help you to get through. Never ever feel guilty if you need help because that’s what your university is for! Always believe, after hard times comes reward. Stay healthy and we are waiting for you to come home.”
Welcome home to all returned international students and to future students – we can't wait, when the time is right, to also welcome you with open arms to our home – Ōtautahi Christchurch.
