Another postcard in from our escorted tour group who have been exploring China.

"The tour continues with the group travelling to Chengdu to visit the Panda, Guilin and Yangzhou with their amazing limestone formations. We take in a cooking class, Tai Chi and evening show, and view the back of the 20 Yuan note. China continues to surprise us all!!"

We have received a wire from China from our intrepid troop…
Beijing has lived up to its promise of amazement. We have conquered the Great Wall, looked at amazement at the acrobatics show and been wowed at the Forbidden City and Summer Palace. The food is plentiful and varied. Xian was a little wet but that didn’t dampen the spirits as we strolled the Terracotta Warriors, shopped for suitcases on Muslim Street, put our handwriting skills to the test with our calligraphy class and enjoyed a craft b**r tasting next to the ancient wall. The bar had a fitting name ‘Ni Wo Wo’ or ‘Near the wall’ . Over and Out

Lyndon and Colette's intrepid troop are marching through the Mongolian Steppe and having a wonderful time. So many sights we have seen. The weather and scenery have been amazing. The group have enjoyed the 4x4 Gobi Drive, riding camels, climbing sand dunes, visiting local herders and sampling the amazing food. We could not fault our lovely guide Luna and her drivers are amazing!
Looking forward to the next part of the trip...

Ian’s enjoying an epic 3 week discovery of Mexico from the Caribbean to the Pacific coasts during the Football World Cup. So far he’s journeyed from Cancun via the amazing Mayan sites near Merida and Campeche in the Yucatan Peninsula to the jungle of Palenque and the charming colonial mountain town of San Cristobal De Las Casas in the remote state of Chiapas. He is now enjoying football fever and the incredible mega city buzz of Mexico City. Highlights are enjoying witnessing these iconic sites with a total absence of crowds, some
amazing food and wonderful friendly Mexican hospitality. Oh, and he reports feeling completely safe!

Ian and his wife have just spent a week exploring incredible Oman with a private driver/guide. From the coast to the mountains, desert, wadis and beach, they experienced the warm, genuine Arabian hospitality that Oman is famous for. It’s safe, relaxed and endlessly fascinating with its rich history and culture and makes an excellent side trip from Dubai or Abu Dhabi or a great destination in its own right.

Ian and his wife have been enjoying a 12 day Viking ‘Pharaohs & Pyramids’ River Cruisetour in Egypt over Christmas and New Year aboard their lovely new river cruise ship Viking Sobek. The highlights included the spectacular new Grand Egyptian Museum, a drink in the bar of the famous Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan and the extraordinary temples of Abu Simbel and Edfu.
