A day in the life staying at the

It’s a very different experience being able to stay overnight in Milford Sound compared to visiting during the day. Once all the day visitors have left, you’ll be able to explore the true beauty of the Milford Sound.

The Mountain View and Riverside Chalets are tucked away next to the glacier fed Cleddau River with incredible views of the surrounding mountains.

Our favourite activities to do while staying at the lodge are:

- Hiking the Lake Marian Track through rainforest and crystal blue rivers

- Watching the sunset behind Mitre Peak (this is an incredible experience)

- A Milford Sound cruise with

- Spotting Seals, Kea, and native birds

- Hiking the Milford Track with

We absolutely love visiting Milford Sound. It’s a spot you cannot leave off your New Zealand itinerary! 🇳🇿

Fiordland National Park is easily one our favourite places to travel too in New Zealand. 🇳🇿

There are so many ways to experience this part of New Zealand, which is what makes it so special. Cruising through Milford Sound with hundreds of waterfalls pouring off the cliffs never gets old , while a Doubtful Sound cruise with offers something completely different. It is quieter, wilder, and feels very untouched.

On top of that, hiking the Lake Marian track and simply driving into Milford Sound are experiences in their own right.

Staying at takes it to another level altogether. It is the only accommodation in Milford Sound, which means you get to fully immerse yourself in the park once the day visitors leave. Waking up surrounded by towering peaks and rainforest is something that is hard to put into words. It is absolutely one of those stays that lives up to the bucket list status 🌿💧
