Woolfeast Christchurch! From artisans of India to artisans of New Zealand. We have a few selected pieces of Tangaliya hand woven scarves at Woolfeast this weekend, from the weaver we met on our last tour. You will be up there with the likes of Brad Pitt who sports a tailor made shirt in Tangaliya weave.
Lots of woollen and pashmina stoles too.

Preparing yarn is rural women’s work done patiently while squatting on the floor for hours. We have a huge range of plain coloured pashminas, printed woollen and woven silk stoles for you to choose from. Met us at Woolfeast Christchurch this Sunday, Pioneer Stadium.

You will be spoilt for choice - paisley design silk in a wide range of colours, handwoven silk Ikat and a beautiful collection of plain colours in 100% pure pashmina wool, highlighting the work of master weavers of India. We continue to support artisans since COVID and beyond.

My India Tours is a boutique travel company based in Christchurch and started in 2014 by former owner of Oriental Crafts of Chancery Lane, Indrani Bedi.
Drawing on her family’s close and extensive connections with textile-based artisans across India and her love of travel, this was a natural progression leading to ‘retirement’.
A bilingual kiwi invites you to step out of your comfort zone and experience an enriching and memorable journey with like minded people.
The escorted small group tours are for those who are young at heart and love adventure, travelling in comfort and style. These tours are designed and tailored to small group’s needs and cover “hands on” and interactive conversations with weavers, embroiderers, dyers, and locals, whilst taking in heritage sites, colourful festivals and markets to soak up the arts and crafts and enjoy delicious cuisine.
The next tour is from 6-24 October, 2026 and there are a couple of spaces available.
