Hi guys, sorry for the lack of updates(as always). The last couple of days have been verybusy getting the boat ready for handover but now we're finally on holiday mode and are enjoying Phuket. We're still getting used to all this free time all of a sudden, this relaxing idea feels a bit strange. Another 2 days of massages surfing and good food and then we're off to Bangkok for a couple of days before heading back to summery Kiel in Germany which is where we call home. Merle is going to start her studies to become a midwife in October while Finn is working towards becoming a marine surveyor. We're looking forward to being back home and after all this luxury of boating with watermakers, a comfy bed & washing machine we've decided to trade to two sea kayaks to explore more of Europe.

Well that is this adventure over. They arrived in Phuket last night. The boat went great and there are no problems. A week gallivanting around Phuket/Bangkok and then back to Deutschland.

Over and out.

HI all. They are off Palau Belitung, an Island East of Sumatra, Indonesia. They are hoping to be at Palau Batam (just off Singapore) late tomorrow night. (it just occurred to me that Palau probably means Island in Indonesian). A day or so there to clear Customs out of Indonesia then straight up to Phuket, Thailand (where the islands are all called "Ko".)
All going well. No problems other than it being a bit hot, They cross the Equator South to North tomorrow afternoon sometime.

As you have all seen we had a stop at Komodo island to check out the dragons. The day started with seeing one from the boat walking down the beach. From there we went ashore and were told it is hard to see them this time of year so don't get too excited. About halfway through the walk we got to where they used to have a feeding spot that live goats would be sent down the bank to meet a large group of hungry dragons. While we were there the guide showed us a video of 2 dragons eating a deer alive. Not long after we saw our 1st Dragon running through the Bush about 20m away which we thought was very cool, until we walked around the corner to find this big boy laying on the track. They hunt by pretending to be a log then as you get relaxed and in striking distance they attack. After a spooky photo shoot we saw another 4 throughout the hike. It was an amazing experience and a place we highly recommend checking out.

Hi. Today they are anchored at Komodo, the dragon Island. Finn sent me a photo of a dragon he took from the boat, but it was a bit far away so I googled this photo instead. They are going for a brief hike with the dragons (bu**er that!) and then carrying on their way.

Hi all. Finn and Merle are in Kupang, a city on the Western end of Timor, Indonesia. They have cleared customs there and will shortly commence their North-Western journey up the Indonesian archipelago towards Thailand. The next stop is likely Kimodo (where the dragons live). The plan is to avoid mega-marathons by going for a few days, then stopping for a good night's sleep. Apart from pirates, a major risk is fishing nets, which are much harder to spot at night. Finn says the boat is going great, but it is bloody hot.

Hello, after a much longer and more present stay than expected in Darwin we are on the move again. Next stop is Kupang Indonesia which is a leisurely 450nm away. (2 days) the weather is warming and calming down so it should be a nice passage and possibly a fish....
