Tāne Mahuta, also known as Lord of the Forest, is the biggest & oldest known Kauri Tree in Northland and New Zealand. It is around 50 meters high and measured at 14 meters around the trunk at breast height. Its age is estimated to be 2000 years plus. Tāne is Māori god of birds and forests.

What a difference these mirrors made this weekend!
I've always hated the clip on towing mirrors as they shake like an unbalanced washing machine on a fast spin. No good for actually seeing anything.

I've been hanging out for these mirrors since we got the car, and finally last week, with the help of and , we managed to get out hands on some. Not only that, but overnight delivery too which was unbelievable service.

Took all of 30 mins to change over, and they are even heated and work with the existing blind spot monitoring system.

These things are going to make laughing at all the cars stuck behind the ute and caravan much sweeter.

After a few nights off grid on the way down, we've stopped in to the in Christchurch to get some laundry done and give the kids the chance to hoon around with others.
Looking forward to a beach day tomorrow in Akaroa.
