WSSC is a home away from home situated on the slopes of Whakapapa ski field, Mt Ruapehu. Ski or Snowboard, tramp or climb, winter or summer - 'The Hut' (as it is affectionately known) is frequented by likeminded people there to enjoy what the mountain has to offer. Breath-taking views, fantastic facilities, warm and family friendly.

The Life Members Lunch and 75th year celebration is on tomorrow. We are meeting at Lorenzo’s to come up the chair lift at 11am for those who need a ride up on the Rangitira. Dress up warm wear good boots. The snow will be solid under foot. The current forecast is for clear sky’s until at 2pm.

Tangihanga of Sir Tumu Te Heuheu is taking place in Whaihi and Turangi over next few days.

Sir Tumu Te Heuheu, one of the longest serving and most respected leaders in te ao Māori, past away on Tuesday at the age of 84.

He was the Ngāti Tūwharetoa ariki and paramount chief, a role he took on in 1997, following his father, Sir Hepi Hoani Te Heuheu Tūkino VII.

Our hearts and condolences go out to Ngati Tūwharetoa whanau with much aroha from all of the Whanganui Ski & Snowboard Club whanau.
