Being named a finalist in four categories at the NTIAs is such a cool moment for all of us. One of my favourite parts of this job is building really special relationships with my clients, so it’s awesome to see that passion coming through in what we do 🌟
I feel very lucky to work alongside such a supportive, talented team, and to be part of an industry that is all about connection and collaboration 😊

xtravel is are aware of the current situation following the closure of airspace over parts of the Middle East due to the unfolding events involving Iran, and we are monitoring developments very closely. Current reporting indicates airspace closures and major disruption affecting multiple countries and airlines across the region until further notice.

We have already been in direct contact with all travellers currently located in or due to transit through this region within the next five days, and these clients remain our immediate priority as we continue to assess updates and provide support where needed.

This is also an important reminder for anyone travelling overseas to register their journey with SafeTravel, the New Zealand Government’s official travel advisory and registration service. SafeTravel provides official advice for New Zealanders overseas, and registration helps New Zealand authorities contact travellers in the event of a major incident or emergency. 🚨URGENT UPDATE FOR UK & IRISH DUAL CITIZENS 🚨

Friends were you born in the UK? Or do you have a parent who was born in the UK? Have you had a child since living in NZ? If the answer is yes to any of these questions and you hold a passport for another country you need to read this.

Changes to the entry requirements come into affect next month and you (and anyone who gains citizenship from you i.e. children) will need ensure you have a valid British Passport to enter the UK, even if you are just visiting. You may not have plans to any time soon, but if you had an emergency and needed to travel urgently you will need to ensure you have everything you need or you will be denied entry to the country.

**If you were born on or after 1 July 2006
You’re automatically a British citizen if you were born outside the UK and all of the following apply:
• you were born on or after 1 July 2006
• your mother or father was a British citizen when you were born

Air New Zealand - Update to Powerbank Restrictions

Are you travelling this Christmas?✈️🎄Most airlines now have their own rules and restrictions for travelling with dangerous items, many of which now include power banks 🔋🎒

If you are travelling with Air New Zealand this holiday season please be aware of their new rules effective immediately:

• Limited to two per person not exceeding 100Wh each.
• Must be stowed:
- In a bag under the seat in front or
- In a seat pocket or
- On one’s person or other designated location
• Must not be stowed in an overhead locker.
• Must not be used to recharge or power another portable electronic device during: taxi, take-off or landing.
• Must not be recharged using in seat/inflight power while onboard

✈️ Visa & Border Update for UK Dual Nationals

Are you a dual UK citizen? Important changes are coming that may affect your future travel.

From 25 February 2026, the UK is introducing new rules for its Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system.

If you’re a dual national, you’ll need to travel to the UK using one of these options only:

1️⃣ A valid UK or Irish passport
2️⃣ Any other valid passport with a certificate of entitlement

If you don’t currently have the right document, you’ll need to apply for a passport or certificate of entitlement before you travel.
You won’t be able to travel without one, and dual British/Irish citizens cannot apply for an ETA for travel after 25 Feb 2026.

Extra Tips:
✈️Always carry both passports when traveling between your countries of citizenship.
✈️Make sure both are valid (not expired), with enough blank pages and the correct validity for your travels.
✈️Airlines typically want to see the passport that allows entry into the destination country without a visa, so you may need to show both at check-in.
