Diana & Chris joined us in Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park for an unforgettable alpine adventure — and what a journey it was.
We began with the stunning Tasman Lake Lookout, surrounded by icebergs drifting beneath New Zealand’s longest glacier. Then it was time to climb — 2,000+ steps and a steady alpine ascent to the iconic Mueller Hut.

Camping high above the Ho**er Valley, watching alpenglow paint Aoraki in gold and pink… this is what a true New Zealand hiking experience feels like. Raw. Peaceful. Powerful.

This lesser-known route offers a true off-the-beaten-path adventure, taking you through ancient beech forest, alpine terrain, and remote Fiordland valleys rarely visited by the general public. Away from the crowds of the Milford, Routeburn, and Kepler Tracks, the Whisky Trail delivers a quieter, more immersive wilderness experience.

Led by experienced Silver Beech Outdoors guides, this hike is designed for confident walkers seeking something more adventurous and authentic. Expect rugged terrain, ever-changing landscapes, and expansive alpine views — all managed with our signature focus on safety, small groups, and high-quality guiding.
