Western Sydney International Airport, otherwise known as Nancy-Bird Walton Airport is set to open in October 2026. WSI will be Sydney’s only 24/7 international airport, offering round-the-clock domestic, international and cargo flights. Whether it’s a breakfast meeting in Singapore or bedtime back home, WSI gives you the freedom to fly when it suits you. WSI will initially serve up to 10 million passengers annually, with scalable expansion to meet future demand — eventually becoming Australia’s largest airport. With no curfew and no movement cap, WSI is ready to grow with Sydney, New South Wales and the nation.
WSI's Master Plan outlines the strategy and development of the airport precinct as we look to grow from 10 million passengers a year to 82 million passengers a year.
With Air New Zealand and Singapore Airlines already set to operate flights into WSI, it is envisioned that all other major Australian carriers will also announce the launch of services in the weeks to come.
