Daffodil Day is one week away and we would love to know what our local businesses and organisations are doing to support the appeal. Please comment below so our community can support the cause, in addition to the street appeals next week ⬇️

We know the Otorohanga Lions are fundraising through the 17th Annual Tournament at the Waitomo Golf Club next Thursday, and that Kiwitown Mitre 10 - Otorohanga have a fantastic $5 raffle with all proceeds going to the appeal. Little Scissors Hair Design and Ador Shoes have also put together a $5 raffle to win one of two gift baskets.

🌿 Community invitation to the official opening and blessing: Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards 🌿

Waitomo District Council and Ngāti Rōrā invite you to the official opening and blessing of our Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards.

🌿 The storyboards weave a beautiful story of areas of cultural significance to Ngāti Rōrā along the Mangaokewa Stream 🌿

Friday 26 September from 10am, starting at the top of Motakiora, Te Kumi Road, Te Kūiti

Please note, there are nine separate sites to visit and times are approximate.
As the plan is to walk the length of the trail, those wishing to attend will need to arrange their own transport to the start of the trail and from the end of the trail at Mangaokewa Reserve.
Those not wishing to walk the length can travel by vehicle to each location at the stipulated time.

10am: Site 1 - Top of Mōtakiora
Te Kumi Road, Te Kūiti

10.30am: Site 2 - Base/Entrance of Mōtakiora
Te Kumi Road, Te Kūiti

11.15am: Site 3
Te Tokanganui a Noho (Te Kūiti Pā)
Awakino Road, Te Kūiti

11.45am: Site 4
He Wāhi Herenga Waka (Waka Landing)

12.15pm: Site 5
The Original Site of Te Tokanganui A Noho
Beginning of walkway track at Inframax entrance, Waitete Road, Te Kūiti

1pm: Site 6 - The Second Site of Te Tokanganui a Noho
At first bridge along walkway (this site requires a little walking to get to)

1.45pm: Site 7 - Taupiri o Te Rangi
Mangaokewa walkway (this site requires a little walking to get to)

2.30pm: Site 8 - Tumutumu
Mangaokewa walkway (this site requires a little walking to get to)

3.15pm: Site 9 - Mangaokewa Reserve
