Epic morning out on the water with for a kayak clean-up around Motu Manawa Marine Reserve and Pollen Island. It might’ve been blue skies and rainbows, but the amount of plastic we pulled from the water and shoreline tells a different story. These places won’t protect themselves — we all have a role to play in looking after them.

A big thanks to the students from Rosehill College who helped clear nearly 300 litres of rubbish from the shoreline at Motunau Bay, Pōnui Island during their trip last week. An awesome effort to help protect this special part of the Hauraki Gulf! 💪🌊 .

An unbeatable evening exploring Wai Manawa / Little Shoal Bay with our friends from Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust. Local community members joined us to learn about waterway protection, observe native wildlife, and enjoy a peaceful paddle at sunset. The Vector Lights put on a stunning show, wowing guests as they danced across the harbour beneath a waxing moon.

Winter means fewer crowds, fresh adventures, and more chances to get creative—like these Mahurangi College students, who jury-rigged kayak paddles to brush up on their sailing skills. Outdoor education at its best.

Inspiring to see the impact The Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award has on young people. Felt honoured today to watch this awesome group from Māngere connect with their local parks and maunga - stepping outside their comfort zones and trying so many new experiences for the very first time.

Huge thanks to Auckland Challenge for bringing this crew our way. Can’t wait to get them all into kayaks tomorrow!

From rogue jandals to wayward tyres, our kayak clean-up days with Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust have been full of unexpected finds and great banter.

We've paddled the Whau River, explored the Motu Manawa Marine Reserve, and hauled out more rubbish than we can count—all while enjoying some great coastal views.

Keen to join the next one? We’ve got a bunch of new events coming up in June, including another kayak clean-up day and a night paddle with spotlighting. Keep an eye on our page—details dropping soon!

📸 A few highlights from recent clean-up adventures below.
