New kit has landed.

Fresh Reel South Charters hoodies and shirts are officially in, and we reckon they’re looking pretty bloody good.

The gear is ready, the boat is ready, now we just need the reels to start screaming.

After years guiding these waters, we’re finally launching our own outfit on Lake Wānaka and Lake Hāwea.

Fishing Trips:

Chase trophy trout in a heated hardtop built for whatever the weather’s doing. Half-day (3 hours) or full-day (6 hours), private or shared, snacks sorted.

Lake Tours:

Leave the rods behind and cruise out to the islands instead. Half-day tours take in Mou Waho in the morning, Ruby Island and Stevensons Island in the afternoon. Full-day tours hit all three.

First season, first boat, plenty of good days on the water ahead. Follow along for the launch date.

After months of planning and preparation, we’re getting closer and closer to our official launch date. Guided fishing charters and lake tours on Lake Wānaka and Lake Hāwea, built from eight years of experience on these waters!

Winter fishing on Lake Wānaka hits different!

Took a few mates out this week for a proper blue-sky winter day - not a cloud in the sky, snow-capped peaks all the way round, and the lake sitting dead flat calm. This is exactly why we don’t put the rods away when it gets cold.

Didn’t take long to get one in the net either. Good solid trout, straight off the back of the boat, and the grins on board tell the whole story - puffer jackets on, hot drinks in hand, absolutely no complaints about being out on the water in July.

If you think the fishing shuts down for winter, think again. Clear water, quiet lake, zero crowds, and views that’ll stop you mid-reel. Winter charters on Wānaka might be the best kept secret going around.
