Day 18 - Kelowna, British Columbia

Today we had free time to explore Kelowna on a stunning day with 28c temperatures.

A group travelled along the lake front for 45km to the Nixdorf Auto Museum where all but 3 of the vehicles are owned by the same person who made his wealth from gold mining in the Yukon.

The rest enjoyed walking/biking around the lake and shops. A very relaxing day!

Day 17 - Revelstoke to Kelowna, British Columbia

This morning we started the day with a tour through the “Ghost Town “ at our resort which is basically an AMAZING Historical Village with cars, trains, artifacts and pretty much an entire historic village. Very cool place to walk around and step back in time.

We followed the main highway past picturesque lakes and small towns. We stopped by the White Post Auto Museum and Antique shop in Tappen which is the home of the Rust Brothers from the TV show Rust Valley Restorations.

Our hotel in downtown Kelowna is close to the lake and town Centre. It’s a funky retro themed Hotel and has a roof top patio which is perfect to have a catch up over a few drinks. Lots of laughs and sharing stories with a great group.

Day 16 - Lake Louise to Revelstoke, British Columbia

For those that didn’t make it to Lake Louise yesterday we caught the local shuttle bus this morning out to the lake. We love the “Oh WOW!” moments our customers have on our tours and this is always one of them.

Next stop was Takakkaw Falls which are the 2nd highest in Canada. We love Emerald Lake however it was extremely busy today and difficult to find a car park although a few managed to at least grab a photo.

The Giant Cedar Board Walk is an easy walk through the forest with beautiful trees and a bear was spotted nearby although Gordon & Jan couldn’t get a photo.

The Mountain Resort at Revelstoke also has a gondola with great views.

Our resort for the night is right on the shore of the lake so we had afternoon drinks followed by a duck race which was a close battle and great fun.

Day 15 - Banff to Lake Louise, Alberta

We are back into exploring the Canadian Rockies today starting with another look around the Banff area with a visit to Lake Minnewanka & Two Jack Lake. Bow River Falls and Cascade Gardens were beautiful.

We then took the Bow River Parkway all the way to Lake Louise. This is a 60kph road with very little traffic to enjoy the scenery. Johnson Canyon Trail follows the river up to the falls.

This afternoon many of the group took the Gondola to the top for views over the Village and lake while some managed to make it out to the Lake Louise plus Moraine Lake.

We are staying tonight in Lake Louise village surrounded by mountains & glaciers.

Day 13 - Calgary, Alberta

Another day exploring downtown Calgary with shops, riverside walk, old & new architecture, sculptures, beautiful gardens, shopping, views, art, music and food.

We’ve only ever been to Calgary during the Stampede so it was nice to see a different side to the City with more local people out & about and a lot cleaner.

Day 12 - Calgary

Our first day exploring Calgary started with a visit to Heritage Park which includes Gasoline Alley - a great collection of restored trucks, cars and gas pumps.

It was also Ron’s Birthday so we celebrated with him!

Day 11 - Edmonton to Calgary, Alberta

We could take the easy & boring way from Edmonton to Calgary, but that’s not how we do things and we are here to see Canada after all!

Our first stop was at the Reynolds Transport Museum which has beautiful restored vehicles with great displays of cars, trucks, tractors, bikes, planes and much more.

We then crossed through thousands of acres of crops across the plains - canola, wheat and corn. Real different countryside to what we’ve seen so far.

Our next stop was the dinosaur capital of Nth America - Drumheller, Alberta for a visit to the Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum and meet Trya, the giant dinosaur in town.

Our home for the next 3 nights is in downtown Calgary.

Day 10 - Edmonton, Alberta

We had a FREE day in Edmonton so the West Edmonton Mall was the place to be for our traditional Go Kart race and a bit of shopping.

With over 800 shops this mall has something for everyone with an indoor wave beach, ice skating rink, pirate ship, seals, amusement rides and much more.

The Go Kart race results? Well let’s just say the 2 tour guides were top of the podium but we all had a blast with 20 racers giving it their all.

Day 9 - The Crossing to Edmonton, Alberta

We left the Rockies today to make our way East to Edmonton. The scenery changes along the route were really dramatic with mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls at the beginning then it became more rural the further East we went.

Our historic hotel in downtown Edmonton was built high above the North Saskatchewan River in 1915 and hosted royalty and celebrities - now it hosts our famous tour Stars!

Day 8 - Jasper to The Crossing, Alberta

Our first full day exploring the Canadian Rockies - it’s all about the beautiful scenery with lakes, rivers, mountains, glaciers, canyons and waterfalls. Around every corner was an OH WOW moment plus we got some exercise with some short walks.

Our resort at The Crossing was surrounded by mountains - just perfect.
