DARGAVILLE 📍
Dargaville is known as the Kumara Capital and the town that has the upside down river! It is located 57kms west of Stay in Whangarei. Things to see and do in Dargaville include climbing Tokatoka ⛰️ (pictured below 👇🏼), exploring Kai Iwi Lakes 🌊 and Baylys Beach which you can also drive on 🏍️
It takes approximately one hour to drive the winding road from Stay in Whangarei to Dargaville which makes it easy for it to be a day trip to explore the Kaipara! There are numerous delicious cafes, bakery’s, fish & chip shops situated in the main street 🍔 We look forward to hearing about your adventures when you book to stay at Stay in Whangarei, your home away from home 🏡

The owners of “Stay in Whangarei” had 4 out of 5 from their litter they bred running around the lifestyle block last weekend 🤎🐶🖤 They’re all so similar & it was nice for them to be reunited! Here in Whangarei it’s been rather windy & rainy but that doesn’t stop the sunshine making an appearance occasionally ⛅️ There’s still plenty to do here in Northland for both kids and adults including lots of bars, pubs & restaurants to suit your cuisine, TenPin Bowling, Flip Out, Hundertwasser, Kiwi Museum! Book in now for a weekend away with friends & family 🥂 We look forward to hearing from you xo

The hosts of Stay in Whangarei have been enjoying their time in Vietnam as their son gets married & meeting their first grandchild 🫶🏼 Despite the hosts being on holiday, the accomodation of Stay in Whangarei has been left in capable hands and continues to take bookings while they are overseas! Ps, we’ve heard that Northland is finally getting a taste of summer after a very gloomy few months so book in now to explore the North of New Zealand 🛣️ Look forward to hearing from you!

This beauty of a spot is situated just over 2 hours north of Stay in Whangarei, it is a 4 hours & 30 min drive from Auckland Airport which puts Stay in Whangarei as the perfect pit stop in-between hopping off the plane ✈️ & venturing to the Far North! Stay in Whangarei provides home baking & other amenities to supply our guests with a continental breakfast however, on request the hosts of Stay in Whangarei are happy to provide other paid services including groceries or home-cooked meals if you feel you may be too tired from your travels otherwise there are great food options to dine in or takeaway not far from Stay in Whangarei 🏡

Bayly’s Beach on the stunning West Coast 🌊 This beautiful beach is situated 70km from Stay in Whangarei! Despite the waves being a bit rough this beach is great for adventuring and exploring, especially because you can drive on it 🥳 There’s plenty of dunes to explore, the Pouto lighthouse you can go up to (if you dare) and the fishing is not too bad either 🎣 As we’ve come into spring, the weather is getting warm & daylight savings is starting soon which is the perfect time to book with us at Stay in Whangarei! Oh, I forgot to mention - the sunset on the West Coast is stunning. Bayly’s Beach is easily a day trip from Stay in Whangarei 🚙

Here at Stay in Whangarei, the hosts have had their hands a bit full with 5 new puppies 🐶
But rest assured over the last 4 weeks, the air BnB has been ticking along with lots of people needing accomodation!! As we’re getting to the colder months, we’re making sure Stay in Whangarei is nice and warm with the use of the heat pump and stocked with lots of blankets 🔥 However, we’ve already had bookings for spring & summer so make sure you get in quick if you have a family event or want to explore our gorgeous backyard!! We ask for your patiences with our replies however we promise to be as swiftly as possible over the next 4 weeks as the puppies start to run around before they’re off to their new homes & families 🏡 talk soon x

Sorry we have been a bit MIA with our posts of things to see & do in our wonderful city! Things have been a bit hectic with covid & some things behind the scene.

This stunning location is Whale 🐳 Bay, she’s an all time family favourite with calm waters, some shade, rocks to climb and to fish off 🎣 she’s a beauty & a there are so many things to see and do in this beautiful little bay! & it’s only a 40km drive from our air BnB along the east coast with so many sights to see on the way 🥰 we look forward to hearing from you to book your stay & explore our backyard 🍃
