Meet Roderick Recine. He is a fourteen year old boy with leukemia who has come into my life that I would like to support! He is our "Team Leader" for an upcoming fundraising event this coming Saturday. UMMP will be forming a team to participate in the "Relevo por la Vida (Walk for Life) " with FANLYC (Foundation for Children with Leukemia & Cancer) and we need your support. JOIN OUR TEAM & WALK WITH US TO SUPPORT RODERICK and all the other children supported by this amazing organization! PLEASE READ! This coming week Unexpected Moments of Magic Panama will be remodeling the area for the babies at the local orphanage/protection center (Hogar Trisker) and we need your support. Please consider donating items for the babies including: clothing, toys, bouncing chairs, walking chairs, diapers, formula, etc. This week we will also be accepting cash donations to go directly towards the remodeling aspect of the program and seeking volunteers who know about plumbing & construction. There are currently 11 precious little babies there in need of our help. Please support this cause. They say it takes a village to raise a child and they are right! Lets make those babies proud to be part of such a loving community of helping hands! At UMMP we are dedicated to you, our volunteers. Our desire is to create a friendly, open & trusting environment where you can explore yourself while serving others.

Volunteering with UMMP is not about coming to Panama to change the world. Rather, it is about coming to Panama to change yourself. We believe the best way we can create change in this world is to create change within ourselves. By serving others, it teaches us to be selfless & grateful. By donating our resources, it teaches us to be benevolent & generous. By experiencing another culture, it opens our hearts & eyes to new ideas & ways of being human.
