The secretive Great tinamou/ Tinamus major. Large size ground bird, probably one of the most wanted birds to found at Pipeline road, Panama🇵🇦. Mostly heard than seem. It is a polyandrous species, and one of the traits is exclusive male paternal care. A female will mate with the male and lay an average of four eggs that he incubates until they hatch. The male cares for the chicks for approximately 3 weeks before beginning to follow another female. Meanwhile the female lays eggs in other males' nests. She can lay five or six males in the nests during each breeding season, which is approximately 8 months, the laying season being very long, leaving the chicks to paternal care. The eggs are blue, large, shiny, the nests are shaped like rudimentary cups built at the base or roots of a tree.
