Lets hope it works and we can do the same on Tahiti
On Tetiaroa, nature and science work hand in hand.
In collaboration with Institut Louis Malardé (ILM), we support an innovative and environmentally respectful mosquito population control program.
Male mosquitoes, which don’t bite, are introduced after being treated with Wolbachia, a naturally occurring bacterium.
When they mate with local females, the eggs don’t develop, helping gradually reduce the population over time.
115 team members from The Brando, Tetiaroa Society, Te Mana o te Moana, Hotu Fenua, TBSA, TMT, the boutique and EDT were trained by Jérôme MARIE from ILM to contribute to this collective effort.
