Nothing beats the feeling of discovering that next ‘best place’. It’s really the ultimate sense of freedom. After the first backpacking trip in my early 20’s, an irreversible appetite to discover new places developed within me. As I grew older, the days of long trips gave way to shorter vacations more aligned with an adult’s working life. The need to get the most during that short vacation became
crucial. Sure, arriving in a new place and spontaneously discovering it, is indeed part of the fun. But more and more, I found myself doing a lot of homework before embarking on the next adventure. I also found my friends doing the same, asking each other for tips, sending emails around and ‘reinventing the wheel’ every time. It’s quite difficult to gather digestible information that would help plan a great itinerary. The more I wanted to plan my vacations, the more I was drowning in multiple online forums, trying to figure out what to do. Sure, there are plenty of travel magazines and websites out there. We’ve all seen those ‘top 5 things to do in...’. But what about the other 5 or 10 places that you should check out? And what’s the best way to plan your day around them?
‘X’ Days In ‘Y’ was created to help travelers plan a great vacation. The goal is to combine the top things to do into a realistic point-to-point itinerary. I only write about my own experiences and every travel section also includes useful travel tips, some learned the hard way as well as things I might do differently the next time around. I hope you find this information useful for your next adventure and would love to hear your feedback.
