Starting today, we celebrate the National Flag Days by displaying our National Flag in our homes, schools, and offices in celebration of our nationโ€™s independence.

Ceremonies will be held throughout the country, especially in the following sites:
๐Ÿ“Œ Dambana ng Pambansang Watawat, Alapan, Imus City, Cavite (with City Government of Imus)
๐Ÿ“Œ Rizal Park Luneta, Ermita, Manila (with National Parks Development Committee and Salute To A Clean Flag Movement)
๐Ÿ“Œ NHCP Museo nina Marcela Mariรฑo at Felipe Agoncillo, Taal, Batangas (with Municipality of TAAL)
๐Ÿ“Œ Samonte Park, Cavite City, Cavite (in the afternoon, with City Government of Cavite)

May 28 was selected as the start of the National Flag Days as it is the anniversary of the Battle of Alapan. Filipino revolutionary forces under the overall command of General Emilio Aguinaldo, who returned from exile on 18 May 1898, defeated a large Spanish force at the field of Alapan, Imus, Cavite. In celebration of the victory, Aguinaldo unfurled and showed to the Filipino people for the first time the new National Flag made by Marcela Mariรฑo de Agoncillo in Hong Kong at the Teatro Caviteรฑo in Cavite City.

The new flag, which featured the red and blue fields with a white triangle superimposed by a sun with eight rays and three stars, would become the Flag of the Philippine nation and is the basis for our present-day standard.

Last Friday was once again a significant day, especially for the ASU-CFMS New Washington 3rd-year BCAED students under the guidance of their instructors, as they officially concluded their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the Office of the Municipal Tourism Officer.

On behalf of the LGU New Washington, headed by the Local Chief Executive, Mayor Shimonette P. Francisco and the entire team of the Tourism Office, wish to extend their deepest appreciation to all affiliates specially to OJT Adviser Dr. Myrene Ginoy and partners for their invaluable support and cooperation.

A stress debriefing and a simple culminating activity were organized to provide the students with an opportunity to share their insights, experiences, and lessons learned throughout their internship journey.

This community-based learning approach was designed to help students gain deeper knowledge and enhance their cultural awareness related to the course they are pursuing. Through this meaningful experience, the students were able to develop not only their professional skills but also a stronger appreciation for community engagement and tourism development.
