I first came across Madge Cafe in an airline magazine, and I made it a point to visit. While their original branch is at La Paz Market, we decided to check out their newer spot at Atria Park.
The place was packed—inside and even the al fresco tables—but luckily we managed to get a seat indoors. Since it was already past lunch, we went for snacks instead of a full meal.
🍜 Pancit Molo – Super yum! It’s meant for sharing, but I ended up finishing the whole bowl myself. Worth it.
🍮 Suman Latik – Incredibly good and not too sweet. I was surprised because I’m used to suman and latik being served separately, with the latik more on the liquid side. Here, it’s more of a “bukayo-type” topping, and it works beautifully.
☕ House Coffee – Their bestseller. Brewed the traditional pre-war way using a kettle and sock strainer. Rich, bold, and comforting—reminded me of Vietnamese coffee.
Overall, the visit lived up to the hype. Madge Café is the kind of place that feels both nostalgic and refreshing at the same time. Next time, I’d love to experience their La Paz Market branch—I imagine it would be even more authentic and full of character.
