General Awareness on New Power Bank Usage Policy (Effective April 1, 2025)

Starting April 1, 2025, passengers will not be allowed to charge portable power banks using onboard USB ports or use power banks to charge their personal devices during the flight.

This policy aligns with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, as power banks are classified as lithium batteries.

Key Points to Remember:

✅ Power banks must be carried in cabin baggage – They are not allowed in checked luggage.
✅ Capacity Limits:
• Power banks up to 100Wh can be brought on board without approval.
• Power banks between 100Wh and 160Wh require airline approval.
• Power banks above 160Wh are prohibited.
✅ No charging via onboard USB ports – Passengers must ensure their devices are charged before boarding or use airline-provided power sources where available.

This policy is in place to enhance safety onboard. Passengers are encouraged to comply with these regulations to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience.
