Gubat Sa Daluyong - a mangrove planting experience🌊🌳

Every year, the Sasmuan Pampanga Coastal Wetlands witness a miracle of nature - 80,000 migratory birds flock as part of the East Asian - Australasian Flyway. Its rich mangrove forest becomes a refuge to hundreds of species of birds signifying its ecological importance.

More than that - this mangrove belt serves as the first line of defense for the Sasmuan Pampanga coastal community during onslaught of typhoons. It proves that mangrove forests are life and will continue to provide for generations to come.

This coming June 27, join us on a voyage to Sasmuan, Pampanga as we plant mangroves for this critical habitat. Our collective action shall prove that we can do so much more together in conserving the remaining forests of our generation.

Call for partners 🌊🌳

Conservation is a shared responsibility of everyone as stewards of nature. Everything is connected and we are no exception. What happens to our forests directly affects us in countless of ways.

Take part in a meaningful journey to reforest a 3,500 hectare mangrove forest in Sasmuan,Pampanga. These mangrove landscapes provide habitat for avian + aquatic species, carbon sequestration, and in protection of coastal communities.

Death of a watershed!⛰️

Upper Marikina Watershed has only 20-25% forest cover left, yet the plundering of natural resources continues. The dwindling of forest cover is due to increased resource extraction, land conversion, and dangerous livelihood practices.

The onset of rainy season is near, when will the people learn? This watershed has been extensively studied to protect Metro Manila, but we continue to destroy the very mountains that protects us.

People need to see this.

Gabriel’s Sanctuary, since its inception, has been reforesting this landscape through rebuilding forests with the community that protects it. We have been fighting for external threats and making people aware of what happens when we destroy our watersheds.

Since time immemorial, we have been seeing the effects of typhoon in our economy and people. Our thrust for development have set us back more than it uplifted us.

Our challenge today remains, what will you do at the face of imminent destruction of forests?
