Cyncha's Adventures And so, this page tells of my adventures.

After 2 years of mainly staying put in Metro Manila (well, I'm a Realtor, so you think I'd stay in one place for so long?) I have started targetting places to visit here in my beautiful country, the Philippines.

Province No. 8: SOUTHERN LEYTE

Climbed to the Our Lady of Assumption’s Shrine, believed to be miraculous, Mama Mary is said to be the protector of the City of Maasin. It’s situated on top of a hill that people have to climb more or less 300 steps.
We also visited the Monte Cueva Shrine, a magnificent Cave Chapel where pilgrims climb the more than 500 steps while doing the 14 stations of the Cross.

Province No. 7: KALINGA

Went to Buscalan to have the 3 dot tattoo from Apo Whang Od.
One has to hike up the mountains where Buscalan Village is located. There’s an option to use this very unsafe contraption which the villagers just usually use to transport essentials or heavy equipment.
One can get to enjoy the scenery especially as the sun rises.
I am awed by the fact that one woman provided for business to thrive in their Village - homestays, merchandise, tour guides and food (not really restos).
To this day, I believe people are still flocking to get their tattoos by this legendary mambabatok.

Province No. 6: IFUGAO

Our first stop in our CAR exploration.
We failed to visit the falls - a reason to go back.

Imagine this, walking for several minutes from where you left your vehicle to get lost getting to your dwelling for the night but local folks helping you out to get to your destination. Upon reaching the homestay, a breath taking view of the rice terraces!
All worth the walk and getting lost.

Not for the maaarte.
Di tabo ang palikuran na walang heater!
(Sumigaw ka na lang ng DARNAH!!!)
Shared room enough for bed to fit.
Meron naman marami pang options. Just saying napuntahan namin pang brusko travellers lang at mas keri ng budget at marami pa kaming pupuntahan.

Province No. 4: NORTHERN SAMAR

BIRI!
What a MAJESTIC place!
Felt so out of this world! Made me really love the Philippines for its natural beauty!
Going there may be a bit of a challenge with port changes and ship and banca rides with no particular schedule.
But truly WORTH IT!

Province No. 3: IFUGAO

LOTS OF WALKING!
Visited Bogyah Hot Spring in Hungduan by walking quite a distance from our Homestay.
Only downside is we had to go back same way we got there. Plus side - fantastic view of the rice terraces!

Province No. 2: CATANDUANES
Pics taken at a Virac Resort (overlooking Mayon Volcano) and Binurong Point (mini Batanes)

Visited Catanduanes to be sponsor (aka ninang) at my cousin’s wedding.

Good roads are a plenty with not too many vehicles around (except in the bayan). Lots of good nature scenery both in the mountains and by the sea.
