Northern Mindanao Tour Guides (G.A.M.A. INC.)

Northern Mindanao Tour Guides (G.A.M.A. INC.) Department of Tourism Region 10 - Accredited Tour Guides, Mountain Guides/Trainers, Cave Guides/Trai The succeeding two batches of graduates followed suit.

The central purpose of Giya Amihanang Mindanao Association (GAMA) - Northern Mindanao Tour Guides Associaton Inc. is to represent, promote and protect the common interest of tour guides in Northern Mindanao by: providing a forum to promote the highest degree of professionalism for tour guides; establishing contacts among other guides and associations to share information and reinforce professional

ties; raising private, public and governmental awareness locally and nationally of the tour guides' role; and maintaining membership in related tourism industry associations. GAMA was founded on December 2005 after the completion of the 2nd DOT-initiated Training for Tour Guides in Cagayan de Oro City. Forty (40) participants from Northern Mindanao graduated from the 11-day course, which comprised the pioneering members of the association. Two professional tour guides of the 1st training eventually joined the association. GAMA has successfully endeavored in various tourism-related projects and partnered with tourism players since then. We are a proud member of the Philippine Federation of Professional Tour Guide Associations, Inc., The Cagayan de Oro Tourism Cluster & Cagayan de Oro City Tourism Board. GAMA is the only tour guide association endorsed by the DOT, City and other tourism players in the region. GAMA is also a collaboration of DOT-accredited tour guides/trainers; cave guides; eco guides; river guides and mountain guides.

The CU Museum of Three Cultures has been temporarily closed to the public since February 17, 2024, until further notice.

This is due to the ongoing renovations and repairs in the Building III ground floor, which also affects the museum area.

Pat passed away this morning June 26, 2023.

Pat was a valued pioneering member of Giya Aminahanang Mindanao Association (GAMA)- Northern Mindanao Tour Guides (G.A.M.A. INC.) For many of us he was also a friend and wonderful colleague, he will be missed.
