The Panay and Guimaras Cultural Mapping Inventories publication is a significant milestone in documenting and preserving the rich cultural heritage, traditions, historical sites and natural treasures of Western Visayas. This highlights the value of cultural mapping as an essential tool in safeguarding local identity and promoting heritage-based and sustainable tourism development with the collaborative partnership among the University of the Philippines Visayas, Regional State Universities and Colleges, Municipal and City Tourism Offices, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region VI (DENR-6).
The event brought together representatives from partner institutions, local government units, cultural workers, heritage advocates and other stakeholders united in their commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural legacy of the region.
