For Day Two, the topic discussed was on ‘Traje de Mestiza’ or Mestiza Dress as one of the Philippine period dresses and a demonstration on the proper construction and folding of ‘panuelo’ or handkerchief typically used in period-themed presentations and festivals.

This March as coincided with the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration as led by City Mayor Dexter Uy through the Catbalogan City Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), the Catbalogan City Tourism, Culture, Arts & Information Office (CTCAIO) is organizing the Gender-Inclusive Cultural Heritage Awareness Training (GICHAT) on Costume-Making on March 26-28, 2025 at Samar National School.
This is a limited and by-invite only training specifically targeted for cultural coordinators, festival contingent managers, local seamstresses, and other identified stakeholders. An accomplished fashion designer and fine arts instructor will lead the training as endorsed by the Local Culture & Arts Council of Catbalogan City (LCAC) and the Catbalogan City Tourism Council (CTC).
Several trainings are slated in the coming months as Catbalogan City prepares for the 2025 Manaragat Festival as this year will focus and highlight another cultural heritage of Catbalogan in its cultural presentations and festival competition.
