To: All Local Tourism Officers, Tourists, Travelers, Accommodation Establishments, Tour Operators, and Other Tourism Stakeholders in the Province of Cagayan
Subject: Preparedness Advisory for Typhoon Crising
Considering the approaching Typhoon Crising, which is expected to affect the Province of Cagayan this coming weekend, July 18-20, 2025, the Provincial Tourism Office issues this advisory to urge all tourism stakeholders, especially accommodation establishments in coastal and low-lying areas, to implement precautionary measures to ensure the safety of tourists, guests, and personnel.
While we continue to champion Endless Fun in Cagayan, it is our shared responsibility to promote safe and resilient tourism, especially during times of natural hazards.
I. GENERAL ADVISORY FOR TOURISTS AND VISITORS
1. ๏ปฟ๏ปฟ๏ปฟAll tourists are advised to defer non-essential travel to island, beach, and mountainous destinations in Cagayan until weather conditions improve.
2. ๏ปฟ๏ปฟ๏ปฟThose currently in the province should coordinate closely with accommodation providers and local tourism officers for updates and necessary assistance.
3. ๏ปฟ๏ปฟ๏ปฟAvoid riverbanks, coastal areas, and other high-risk zones during the typhoon period.
II. ADVISORY TO ACCOMMODATION ESTABLISHMENTS
Especially those situated in coastal municipalities and other flood-prone areas:
1. Activate Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Protocols:
โข Review and implement DRRM Plans
o Inspect premises to secure lightweight structures, signage, and outdoor amenities.
โข Prepare emergency supplies (food, water, power backups, first aid kits).
2. Ensure Safety and Coordination with Guests:
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟProvide timely briefings to guests about the typhoon and your safety protocols.
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟAssign staff to assist with emergency coordination and updates.
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟExtend flexible arrangements (rebooking/refund) as necessary.
3. Maintain Coordination with Local Authorities:
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟStay updated with PAGASA and NDRRMC bulletins.
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟCooperate with LGUs and MDRRMOs for possible evacuation protocols.
* ๏ปฟ๏ปฟImmediately report any incidents or requests for support.
