MACTAN-CEBU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WINS BEST IN ASIA-PACIFIC, A HISTORIC FIRST FOR THE PHILIPPINES
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has made history as the Best Airport in the Asia-Pacific Region, a prestigious recognition awarded by the Airports Council International (ACI). This marks the first time a Philippine airport has earned this title, solidifying its position among the world's top airports.
MCIA claimed the top spot in the five to 15 million passengers per annum category, highlighting its world-class service, efficient operations, and commitment to passenger experience. The award, based on real-time traveler feedback, reinforces MCIA’s role as a premier connectivity hub for Cebu and beyond.
“This means a lot to me—our relatively small airport is now recognized among the best globally,” said MCIA General Manager Julius Neri Jr.
With continuous improvements, expansion plans, and a focus on enhancing traveler experience, MCIA is setting new standards for Philippine aviation. The official award presentation will take place in September in Guangzhou, China.
