Hope that even if we don't make baktas anymore from Bajada to Lanang during peak hours on school days, it was worth calling out to the city for help to students who literally walk from Bajada to SM Lanang just to be able to get home from school.

Daghang salamat sa City Government of Davao! Hope madagdagan pa ni mga bus para mas daghan pa ang maka sakay na mga commuters going to work or home daily.

10 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 2025

Ten buses for the Davao City Interim Bus Service (DIBS), a program solely funded, conceptualized and operated by the Davao City Government, is expected to arrive in September, and might finally be deployed by the 4th quarter of 2025.

“Sa latest communications nato, in the middle of August maybe those 10 buses will be shipped padulong sa Davao. We are hoping that sometime end of August or September muabot ang bus then by that time our NC3 Bus Driving TESDA-certified drivers will be able to familiarize themselves, part pud sa ilahang training how to operate these 10 new buses (Based on our latest communication, the 10 buses might be shipped to Davao around the middle of August. We are hoping that by the end of August or sometime in September, the buses will arrive. By that time, our NC3 Bus Driving TESDA-certified drivers will be able to familiarize themselves with the buses as part of their training on how to operate them),” Atty. Tristan Dwight Domingo, Davao City Bus Project Manager, told Davao City Disaster Radio on Thursday.

Domingo said that they were hopeful that by late September or October they can start the deployment of the buses.

He said that the buses will be deployed and rides will be offered for free to Dabawenyos during peak hours.

They are currently waiting for the official list of routes approved by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

“With the DIBS dili undangon ang Peak Hour Augmentation Bus System nato kay dako man kini og tabang (Even with the DIBS, the PHABS will continue as it is a huge help),” he said, adding that both will simultaneously operate assuming the demand.

The transport studies will continue for the areas or routes where PHABS can be assigned effectively in the future.

Domingo said that with the expected arrival of the buses currently, they are hiring NC3 TESDA-certified mechanics, and personnel to be assigned at the command center for the DIBS. CIO
