๐—š๐—ข๐—ข๐—— ๐—ก๐—˜๐—ช๐—ฆ | The Local Government Unit of Can-avid, Eastern Samar received the CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE
from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) for the submission of a COMPLIANT and ACCEPTABLE Local Cultural Inventory last January 27, 2026 in compliance with Article V of Republic Act No. 10066 of the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.

This certificate of compliance is only given to those LGUs who adhere to the procedure on the submission of Local Cultural Inventory and thus shall serve as a proof of compliance per DILG-NCCA Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-001 or the โ€œAmended Guidelines on the Standardized Submission of Local Cultural Inventory under the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property for the Issuance of Certificate of Compliance to Local Government Units".

This certificate is also a vital aspect on the evaluation of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) this year for the Culture and the Arts category.

To boost tourism and preserve our historical assets, the Office of Local Tourism, in coordination with the land tenant, held a formal dialogue with the Barangay Captain, Council, and land tenant.

This activity centers on the Baluarte Japanese Foxhole Ruins located in Brgy. Cansangaya, Can-Avid, Eastern Samar. This site is a vital part of our local history and has been officially identified by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as a significant local cultural landmark of our municipality. ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ›๏ธ
