Second Destination: Mindanao Taoist Temple

Mindanao Taoist Temple is found in 41 Juan de la Cruz Street in RG Village, Agdao district. The easiest way is through JP Cabaguio. When you see NGK Auto Supply or MDC Trading, turn left to Garnet Street; then turn left at the next, passing through a misplaced post in the middle of a narrow road - a tight passage for 4x4 vehicles to pass through. You can't miss the temple from there.

First destination: Lon Wa Temple

Lon Wa Temple Cabagiou Avenue, Davao City. The Buddhist Temple of Lon Wa is one of the largest Buddhist temples in the Philippines and is the biggest one in Mindanao. It is situated on J.P. Cabaguio Avenue in the district of Agdao, about 3 to 4 KM northwest of the Davao City Center.

Kung Fu monks and nuns from the Philippine Academy of Shakya, a Buddhist religious organization, live in Lon Wa or Long Hua, meaning "Dragon's Temple." Many Chinese tourists and migrants also visit the Temple to worship and pay respects.

The walls of the Temple are loaded with Italian marble, and the premises are beautifully renovated with the lush greenery of various flowering plants and palm trees. When you enter, you'll find that the Temple has a high-ceiling hall with well-painted floors, an enormous Buddha, and a long line of lighted candles. In general, the Temple is simple and austere. The serenity and the sweet smell of the Temple make this sanctuary a welcome retreat away from the daily bustle of city life.
