GENSAN ARISE! Happy Charter Day!

For 58 years, General Santos City has stood as a testament to the pioneering spirit of its founders and the determination of generations of Generals who transformed a frontier settlement into a thriving center of commerce, tourism and culture, opportunity and metropolis in the Philippines.

The recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake reminded us of our vulnerabilities, but more importantly, it revealed our greatest strength—our unity. From emergency responders and national and local authorities to businesses, community organizations, and ordinary citizens, the collective response demonstrated the resilience that defines our city. Recovery is ongoing, guided by science-based risk reduction, strengthened preparedness measures, and community-driven action. The earthquake may have shaken our city, but it did not shake our spirit.

As we celebrate our 58th City Charter Anniversary, we look ahead with confidence and purpose. Together, we will continue building a safer, stronger, and more resilient General Santos City. United in vision, steadfast in spirit, and hopeful for the future, we rise as ONE GENSAN.

Participants of the Community Guiding Training underwent a Basic Life Support Orientation facilitated by 𝐒𝐍𝟐 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐋. 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐚, 𝐏𝐂𝐆, 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐀. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦, 𝐏𝐂𝐆, and 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐋𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐇. 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐢, 𝐏𝐂𝐆 of the 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨.
The session provided participants with essential knowledge and practical guidance on basic emergency response and safety measures relevant to community guiding and tourism activities.
Congratulations to all participants for their active participation, and our sincere appreciation to the resource persons for sharing their time, expertise, and valuable insights in support of tourism capacity development.

Pre-training requirements may be submitted at the Tourism Hub located at Pendatun Avenue corner Matalam Street, General Santos City, or through email at [email protected].

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who expressed their interest in joining the training. Due to the limited number of slots available, we regret that not all applicants were accommodated. Nevertheless, we encourage everyone to continue supporting and participating in future trainings and tourism-related activities of the Tourism Division.
